Application deadline for the 2026–2027 kindergarten year: March 15

Longyearbyen Kindergartens consists of two kindergartens: Kullungen Kindergarten and Polarflokken Kindergarten.
Both offer full-day places for children aged 1–6, from three to five days per week.

Applying for a kindergarten place:
The deadline for applying for the main intake for the 2026–2027 kindergarten year is March 15.

Important changes from August 1, 2026: The
Longyearbyen Local Council has adopted new statutes for Longyearbyen Kindergarten, effective from August 1, 2026.
