Housing Survey in Longyearbyen
Visit Svalbard and the Longyearbyen Local Council are collaborating on a survey of housing types and residential properties in Longyearbyen. The purpose of the survey is to support the further development of Longyearbyen—new homes will be built, and plans will be drawn up regarding where and how they will be constructed.

We need your input on the housing of the future
To make good choices and decisions, we need to know how people actually live today and what they want when it comes to housing in Longyearbyen. The responses will be used in the Longyearbyen local government’s housing needs assessment and will provide insight into how we should create a local community where it is possible to live, work, and stay—throughout different stages of life.
The more people who respond, the better the plans will reflect reality. It is important that many different voices are heard. Whether you live alone or with family, in a studio, apartment, cabin, or house—your situation is part of the bigger picture
