Summer jobs for young people!

We are now accepting applications for this year's summer jobs for young people!

The Longyearbyen Local Council is offering summer jobs to students at Longyearbyen School who are 13 years old (as of June 22, 2026) or older. Over the course of two days, we’ll clean up litter around town to make it sparkle.

This year’s summer cleanup will take place on June 22 and 23. The workday is 6 hours for all age groups, including lunch, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

To ensure good supervision, we have set a limit of 30 participants. If more than 30 people sign up, we will hold a lottery to determine who gets to participate (everyone will be notified by email after the deadline).
