Emergency response exercise in Longyearbyen on September 10th

On September 10th, there will be a large-scale emergency response exercise in Longyearbyen. Parts of the exercise will be visible to the public. The library will be closed during the exercise.

Exercises are important for our collective emergency response

The exercise on September 10 will involve large parts of the emergency response system in Longyearbyen. Exercise activities may be visible both in the town center and in the surrounding area of Longyearbyen.

To ensure that the drill is conducted in a realistic and effective manner, we ask that those who are not participating in the drill keep their distance and avoid disrupting the drill activities. Thank you for your understanding.

The library will be closed during the drill

During the exercise, the Longyearbyen Local Council will establish and operate an Evacuee Center (EPS) at the library. The Longyearbyen Library will therefore be closed from 8:00 a.m. to approximately 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 10.
