Cork Grants 2026: The application deadline is October 11

Groups, associations, clubs, and organizations whose goal is to carry out initiatives for the benefit of the residents of Longyearbyen may apply for funding from the Cork Money Fund for 2026. The deadline for submitting applications is October 11.

Priority Areas:

At the Local Community, Youth, and Culture Committee meeting on September 1, 2026, the following priority areas were proposed by LOKU members and unanimously approved:

• LOKU proposes prioritizing the application from Svalbard Turn and established activities in both culture and sports as this year’s priority areas.

Information Session:

On Tuesday, September 22, at 6:00 p.m., there will be an informational meeting at the library regarding this year’s grant allocation and the application process.

Guidelines for the allocation:

The allocation budget shall be a maximum of 30% of the amount allocated from Nordpolet’s surplus. This year, the allocation budget is 1,800,000.

The remaining amount will be set aside in a buffer fund and allocated to already established projects. This also applies to LL’s own projects, which are excluded from the grant allocation.

The final decision on the application will be made at the LOKU meeting on December 1.

• Go to the application form, which you’ll find under “Forms” and “Culture, Sports, and Leisure”
• Log in with BankID
• Fill out all fields in the application form as thoroughly as possible and feel free to provide details. — Remember, it is based on this form that you may be awarded a grant
• Under the “Funding” section, please explain whether it would be possible to carry out the project if you are not awarded the full amount.
• Under “Attachments,” it’s important that you upload all required documents.
