The Longyearbyen cooperation forum has been established
The local council has decided to establish the Longyearbyen Cooperation Forum as a permanent platform for cooperation among key community stakeholders in Longyearbyen.
The goal is to strengthen dialogue, information sharing, and coordination on issues that are important to the local community.
At the meeting on September 16, the local council voted to establish the Longyearbyen Cooperation Forum. The forum will bring together key stakeholders in the local community to discuss issues of mutual interest and contribute to better coordination and information exchange.
Facilitating Dialogue
The forum was established in response to the local council’s desire for a comprehensive and unifying collaboration forum for Longyearbyen. The forum will facilitate dialogue and follow-up across businesses and organizations, while also contributing to a shared understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the local community.
The Longyearbyen Collaboration Forum will not make binding decisions or replace the regular decision-making processes of the participating organizations. The forum will serve as a platform for interaction, information sharing, and coordination.
First Meeting
As part of the decision, the new forum will replace the current airport committee and assume the role of facilitating dialogue on matters related to the airport, transportation, and accessibility.
The inaugural meeting of the Longyearbyen Cooperation Forum will be held on Wednesday, October 7, at 12:00 p.m. in Newtontoppen in the business building. The Longyearbyen Local Council will host the meeting and facilitate the forum’s launch.
