Everyone needs to feel like they belong—welcome to our theme night on exclusion and bullying
How can we, as adults, help children and young people feel safe, experience friendship, and feel a sense of belonging?
On November 9, parents and other adults in Longyearbyen are invited to a themed evening on social exclusion and bullying.
Children and young people need to feel like they belong. A sense of belonging is important for learning, well-being, and development, but some experience social exclusion, loneliness, and bullying. What actually happens when children and young people are excluded, and what can adults do to prevent it and help?
Knowledge and Practical Tools
Jon-Halvdan Lenning, the anti-bullying ombudsman for Troms, will be speaking at the event. Participants will learn about the factors that can lead to social exclusion and bullying, and how adults can help build safe communities.
There will also be practical tools for strengthening friendships and preventing bullying, as well as an opportunity to discuss challenges and solutions with others.
The event is aimed at parents, teachers, coaches, and other adults involved with children and youth in Longyearbyen.
