Youth club: – Very proud and satisfied!

The figures from the youth club for 2023 show that the activities on offer are popular with young people in Longyearbyen.
A summary of the past year shows that the club has an average of 94 visitors per week. The club is open for 36 weeks of the year.
"We are very proud and pleased that the youth club is so well used. We know from experience that there are fewer visitors during the season we are now entering, but the total number for the year is good," say youth club leader Lene Gjervik and youth coordinator Katrine Boel Gregussen.
The figures show that there were 3,389 visits last year, and the target group is approximately 120 young people. In addition, there are events, birthday parties, and other rentals.
"We are so lucky to live in a place where the doors are so open and where the community is committed to children and young people. It's really unique," say Lene and Katrine.
Longyearbyen Youth Club, popularly known as Klubben, is an informal meeting place for young people aged 11 to 20. The youth club is divided into two rooms, with the older ones having their own room. The young people themselves have been involved in designing and furnishing the premises through active participation. The club is open six days a week, offering a variety of activities.
