Cork money 2024 – The application deadline is October 20

Groups, associations, and organizations whose goal is to implement measures for the benefit of the population of Longyearbyen can apply for financial support from the cork money fund for 2024.

The deadline for submitting applications is October 20.

Application form and guidelines

An electronic application form must be used. You can find the application form for Korkpenger here External link.

How to apply:

  • Log in with your BankID
  • Fill in all fields in the application form as carefully as possible and provide as much detail as you can
. Remember that it is on the basis of this form that you may be awarded Korkpenger.
  • Under the financing field, we would like you to explain whether it is possible to carry out the project if you are not awarded the full amount.
  • Under attachments, it is important that you upload the required documents.

Purpose

Through the "Regulations on the distribution of profits from Nordpolet AS," the Longyearbyen Local Council is responsible for distributing the net profits from Nordpolet for welfare purposes, which means public benefit initiatives for the residents of Longyearbyen.

Grants shall promote development and activity for individuals, teams, and associations, and reflect the diversity of cultural life in Longyearbyen.

Framework and guidelines for the allocation

The allocation framework is NOK 2.4 million, or a maximum of 30% of the allocation amount. This has been determined by the Local Council.

The remaining amount is set aside in a buffer fund and goes to already established projects. This also applies to LL's own projects that are excluded from the allocation made in LOKU.

If you are unsure whether you can apply, or have any questions, you will find more information in this document: Guidance and information for applicants (pdf) pdf, 271 kB.

Tips for those who are writing an application:

The committee that will review your application before it is presented in LOKU can only see what you have written in the application. Do not assume that "everyone" already knows about your project.

Provide a good reason why your team or association should be awarded funding in 2024. What are the consequences if you do not receive funding this year?

Remember to attach all attachments in the first instance. This makes the committee's job much easier and speeds up the process.

There are many applicants, and not everyone receives funding each year.

Good luck with your application and your project!
