Allocation of profits from Nordpolet AS
Purpose In the "Regulations on the
distribution of profits from Nordpolet AS," the Longyearbyen Local Council has been tasked with distributing the net profit for welfare purposes. Welfare purposes refer to charitable initiatives for the population of Longyearbyen.
Grants are intended to stimulate development and activity among individuals, teams, and associations. Through these grants, the Longyearbyen Local Council wishes to reflect the diversity of cultural life in Longyearbyen.
Who can apply?
Teams, associations, and others whose purpose is to carry out charitable initiatives for the population of Longyearbyen. Larger organizations and associations must coordinate their applications and submit a joint application.
Application deadline
Set annually and announced on the website. Normally, the application deadline will be in October. Grants are awarded only once a year.

Deadline for payment of allocated interest
The deadline for payment of interest is normally June 30 of the year following the allocation. In certain cases, a deferral of up to one year may be granted if special circumstances in the initiative/project warrant it.
Payment requires that a report and accounts for the previous year's grant have been submitted to the Longyearbyen Local Council and that the conditions for the grant specified in the decision have been met.
