Flushing of water pipes in Longyearbyen

Based on our action plan for drinking water, we must flush the water pipes in the city this week.

The flushing will take place at night from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on the night of Thursday, March 6, and the night of Friday, March 7. 

Residents may experience discoloration of the water after flushing, and we recommend letting the water run until it becomes clear.
